DOCTORS TO STRIKE ON WEDNESDAY OVER EVICTION NOTICE

The strike, supported by the Ghana Medical Association, will only affect new admissions because all doctors have agreed to follow the Association's directive.

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council purportedly gave the doctors a week to quit their current dwellings.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo, the Ashanti Regional President of the Ghana Medical Association, expressed dismay at the sudden displacement of hospital staff from their homes, citing an agreement made with Manhyia Palace for new accommodations prior to the land's handover. This agreement, however, was apparently ignored.
