A representative of the Communications Group of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Padmore Baffour Agyapong, forecast victory for the NPP in 2024, saying that there are enough evidence to substantiate his prediction.
In a discussion panel on the 'Epa Hoa Daben' show with Sefa Danquah, he clarified that from 2000 to 2008, every faction seeking a third term prevailed in the first round but lost in the second round. That being said, this trend has been broken after President Nana Addo secured a one-touch win in 2016, when the NDC was pursuing a third term.
He noticed that the only thing that could influence this forecast was the apathy of the electorate. "The only distinction is that apathy is becoming strong in the third word. So the turnout is smaller than the seventy (70) per cent. But if the EC will give even sixty-six (66) percent of the voter turnout in 2024, it would give the NPP a victory."
